The Capua's waterfalls in Yura - 1 day

HIGHLIGHTS :

- The proximity and beauty of this site close to Arequipa
- Total peace of mind for off-the-beaten-path discovery
- Personalized support from the tour conductor and the private vehicle

This excursion is a good option if you want to visit the surroundings of Arequipa. There is only one hour transportation and you will test your acclimatization thanks to this hike. We’ll pick you up around 8am at the hotel to go in private vehicle to the village of Yura, located north-west. During the ride, you'll enjoy immense desertic landscape. Once we get there, we'll start a 5 kilometers walk  crossing desert hills to reach the small canyon of Capua in a totally different environment. As soon as we enter in this small canyon, we’ll discover a landscape much more green and moist. We’ll start here a 1h-walk, along the small river, which we'll have to cross sometimes. We’ll admire small waterfalls and singular rock formations, before arriving at the 35 meters high waterfall, which is called Corontorio or Capua. We’ll take a moment to enjoy this magnificent place.
Then, walk back to Yura where you could have lunch and enjoy the hot spring baths.
Return to Arequipa in the late afternoon.

Other option:

Back in Yura, we can have a 30mn-ride towards the quarries of Anashuayco where we’ll admire the small white canyon formed by Ignimbrite’s wall. This is the sillar/stone used to build the city of Arequipa and that gave its nickname of “White City”. You’ll enjoy the last patriotic and religious sculptures made by the stonemasons.
Way back to Arequipa in the late afternoon.

If you stay longer in Arequipa, we recommend you to try the Trek in the Colca Canyon.
