Horseback ride to the Ruins of Uyo Uyo - 3 hours

We will pick you up at your hotel in Yanque or at the main square at the scheduled hour. First, basic instructions about how to ride a Peruvian Paso Horse. Then departure for the horseback ride accompanied by our equestrian guide. We’ll cross the Plaza de Armas of Yanque and we’ll go down to the Collagua Bridge dominating the Colca River to discover the other side of the valley. We’ll pursue the ride to the archaeological ruins of Uyo-Uyo. This small abandoned village was the Colca capital. We’ll see former houses, a canal network and a lot of proofs showing the coexistence between Collagua and Inca Cultures. On the way back to Yanque, we will cross the impressive Sifon Bridge before arriving to our hotel.

  • We can also propose you a trip in the Colca Canyon of 2 or 3 days leaving from Arequipa with one or several horseback rides, click here to get more details.
  • Advices: we recommend you to take some water, a cap or a hat, your camera, sunscreen and a sweater for the end of the afternoon.
  • Size of the group: from 2 to 6 riders. Consult us if you are alone.
  • Open to all, no previous equestrian experience needed.
